Which images make good bead keychains
- Choose one clear subject. People, pets, vehicles and objects all work when their outer silhouette is easy to separate from the background.
- Keep the original front, side, tilted or action pose. The pose is often part of what makes a small sprite recognizable.
- Use 24–36 cells and 6–10 colors for most charms; increase to 40–48 cells for clothing, vehicles or paired subjects.

Why small keychain patterns fail
- The subject touches the edge: leave one or two cells around hair, ears, wheels and accessories so the silhouette can be checked.
- A connection is only one cell wide: widen arms, tails, ears, wheels and hanging points before ironing.
- The palette is noisy: merge neighboring reds, skin tones or grays and preserve only identity colors plus the darkest outline.
- A hook becomes part of the artwork: keep the generated subject hook-free and add a real attachment point only for the hardware you will use.
